Terms of Service
Clear rules for a high-trust network.
Effective date: April 22, 2026
These Terms of Service explain the rules for using ScopeMatch. By creating an account, browsing, posting a project, messaging, submitting interest, or using ScopeMatch in any way, you agree to these Terms.
1. What ScopeMatch does
ScopeMatch helps homeowners, general contractors, and trade professionals connect around home service and construction-related projects. Features may include project posting, contractor discovery, profile browsing, matching, messaging, rough bid ranges, generated market estimate guidance, safety reporting, contractor subscriptions, and related tools.
2. Accounts and eligibility
- You must provide accurate account, profile, business, and project information.
- You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping login details secure.
- Contractors and general contractors must be authorized to offer the services they list.
- ScopeMatch may refuse, suspend, or remove accounts that create risk, violate these Terms, or misuse the service.
3. Acceptable use
Use ScopeMatch for real, lawful, safe-for-work home service and construction-related activity. Keep profiles, project posts, messages, photos, bids, and reports accurate, respectful, and relevant.
4. Prohibited conduct
- Posting fake jobs, fake contractor profiles, misleading credentials, fake reviews, or deceptive pricing.
- Harassment, threats, discrimination, hate, sexual content, graphic content, or unsafe content.
- Scams, fraud, phishing, impersonation, payment manipulation, spam, or attempts to avoid platform rules.
- Uploading photos, addresses, documents, or personal information you do not have permission to use.
- Scraping, reverse engineering, interfering with the service, overloading systems, or attempting unauthorized access.
- Using ScopeMatch for illegal work, unsafe work, or work that requires licenses, permits, or approvals you do not have.
5. Estimates are non-binding
ScopeMatch may show generated market ranges, confidence levels, variance reasons, labor ranges, material ranges, homeowner budgets, contractor bid ranges, or estimate comparisons. These are informational only. They are not final quotes, appraisals, guarantees, or promises of cost.
Final contractor quotes may vary after contractor review, site conditions, measurements, hidden damage, material choices, labor needs, permits, travel, urgency, and other project-specific details.
6. Homeowner and general contractor responsibilities
- Provide accurate project details, photos, timelines, property access information, and budget expectations.
- Choose when to share exact address details and only share them with users you are comfortable contacting.
- Review contractor profiles, licenses, insurance, references, quotes, contracts, and work terms before hiring.
- Comply with property rules, permits, association rules, local laws, and payment obligations you agree to outside ScopeMatch.
7. Contractor responsibilities
- Maintain all required licenses, insurance, permits, bonding, registrations, and legal authority for your work area and trade.
- Represent your business, service area, availability, pricing, portfolio, and credentials truthfully.
- Provide accurate estimates and clarify when a range depends on an in-person review, site visit, measurements, or material selections.
- Handle customer agreements, work quality, warranties, safety, taxes, employment obligations, and dispute resolution for work you accept.
8. Subscriptions, payments, and fees
Homeowner access is intended to be free. Contractors may be charged subscription fees, plan fees, promotional fees, or other paid feature fees when billing is enabled. Any paid plan should show pricing, renewal details, cancellation terms, and included features before purchase.
ScopeMatch is not currently intended to process homeowner-to-contractor project payments inside the app. If in-app project payments are added later, ScopeMatch must publish additional payment terms before that feature goes live.
9. Content and photos
You keep ownership of the content you upload. You give ScopeMatch permission to host, display, resize, analyze, moderate, and use that content as needed to operate the service, show your profile or project, support matching, generate estimate guidance, and protect users.
10. Suspension and removal
ScopeMatch may remove content, restrict visibility, pause messaging, disable paid features, suspend accounts, or terminate access if we believe activity violates these Terms, creates safety risk, harms users, misleads the marketplace, or exposes ScopeMatch to legal or operational risk.
11. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
ScopeMatch is provided as a platform and toolset. We do not guarantee that every match, message, estimate, subscription, profile, project, or contractor interaction will lead to a job, payment, completed work, or satisfactory outcome.
To the fullest extent allowed by law, ScopeMatch is not responsible for user conduct, contractor work, homeowner decisions, off-platform agreements, property damage, missed appointments, payment disputes, injuries, lost profits, indirect damages, or outcomes outside our reasonable control.
12. Changes and contact
We may update these Terms as ScopeMatch evolves. Continued use after updates means you accept the revised Terms. For questions, contact support@scopematch.app. To report unsafe behavior, contact abuse@scopematch.app.
