- Scams, phishing, suspicious payment requests, requests to move money in unsafe ways, or impersonation.
- Misleading license, insurance, certification, service area, review, or portfolio claims.

- The profile, project, message, photo, bid, or match involved.
- A short timeline of what happened.
- Screenshots, links, names, or message text if available.

How ScopeMatch may respond

Safety reminders
- Do not share an exact project address until you are comfortable with the contractor or site visit plan.
- Verify licenses, insurance, references, permits, and contracts before hiring.
- Do not send full payment details, passwords, verification codes, or sensitive documents in messages.
- Be cautious with requests for unusual deposits, off-platform wire transfers, gift cards, cryptocurrency, or urgent payment pressure.
- Meet and schedule site visits in a way that feels safe and appropriate for the project.
Scams and outside reporting
If you believe you encountered fraud or a scam, you may also report it to the Federal Trade Commission at ReportFraud.ftc.gov. Reporting helps agencies identify patterns and protect others.
